The Old West: Northwood Update

Hello!

I'm excited to announce that the update for The Old West: Northwood is now available for download!

It has been a long journey working on this update, and I'm thrilled to finally share it with all of you. This update brings support for NVIDIA DLSS 3, although I couldn't personally test it as I don't have an RTX 40 series GPU. However, everything should be working fine.

One of my main goals was to revamp the overall look of the demo to make it more realistic. In its original version, there was a considerable color chaos or oversaturation and the image wasn't properly balanced. Now, everything should look more cohesive, and the visuals should be more pleasing to the eye.

Here are some of the key changes in this update:

• Upgraded Unreal Engine version to 5.2.
• Implemented NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation.
• Updated some plugins including AMD FSR.
• Reworked lighting, color grading and volumetrics.
• Improved weather effects.
• Improved VFX.
• Better textures.
• Added option to skip cutscenes.
• Added option to control camera distance offset in TPP.
• Added responsive character movement mode.
• Large number of fixes to rendering, environment, animations and more.
• Many other improvements, fixes and changes.

While there's still plenty of room for further improvements, I have decided to put this project on hold for now and even probably end it here.
I have learned a great deal from working on it, more than any other project I've undertaken before.
